Marissa McGarrah: Brand Planning Director
Have you ever heard a lawyer rap, “I can get metaphysical, hyper-analytical. My ideas are guaranteed to be atypical”? Well, meet Marissa.
After studying philosophy at Texas Christian University, Marissa earned her law degree from the University of Colorado. During law school, she edited for a law journal, clerked for the Colorado Supreme Court, and worked with inmates on death row. She went on to practice commercial litigation for three years but yearned to put her creativity to work in advertising.
Her first agency job started with an open call for “fresh meat” from Publicis Hawkeye. She wrote and recorded a rap video and was instantly hired. Marissa knows how to make a strong argument – even one that includes meat puns (“It’s rare to find a candidate this well done”).
After a year of working on brands like 24 Hour Fitness, Bridgestone, and Cicis, Marissa came to The Richards Group. Now she brings her unique perspective to brands like Charles Schwab, Go RVing, Motel 6, and Alfa Romeo.
