Tim Tone: Creative Group Head/Art Director
Tim received his BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and started working as a designer. After looking through the One Show award annual, he had his first great idea: switching into advertising to become an art director.
After college, Tim stayed in Minneapolis, creating award-winning work for Target, L.L.Bean, Michelob, Polaris snowmobiles, Victory motorcycles, and E*Trade. Eventually getting tired of shoveling snow, he headed south on I-35 for TRG.
Initially, Tim spent 99.276 percent of his time working as lead art director on Hyundai before becoming a creative group head overseeing creative duties for Orkin, AAA (The Auto Club Group), Fruit of the Loom, and Chrysler. His work has earned him numerous awards including Cannes Lion, The One Show, Communication Arts, Kelly Awards, and Gold Effies.
When not working on the “big idea,” Tim enjoys windsurfing, standup paddleboarding, and basketball.
