The Richards Group has named Kern Egan principal of Richards Sports + Entertainment, the agency’s sponsorship marketing practice.
Egan began his career in the management consulting unit of Arthur Andersen LLP. He then went to Group II Communications to manage various sports marketing programs for McDonald’s, Motorola, and True Value Hardware. At Group II, his property experience included NASCAR, NBA, NFL, and USOC. From there, Egan served as cofounder and chief marketing officer of EEPEX, a technology consulting company now based in Bethesda, Maryland. Before the formation of Richards Sports + Entertainment, Egan managed the Accor portfolio of hotel brands. He is currently responsible for directing Richards Sports + Entertainment’s growth plans and managing its portfolio of clients including Advance Auto Parts, Bridgestone, Firestone, Fruit of the Loom, H-E-B, and MetroPCS.
