The Richards Group and MetroPCS Communications Inc. have introduced a new multimedia advertising campaign to coincide with the launch of wireless coverage in New York City and the greater Boston regions. The campaign breaks new ground for the wireless brand, putting them on the national stage with work done by famed Hollywood special effects house Stan Winston Studios (The Terminator, Jurassic Park, Alien, Predator, and the iconic face mask of Styx’s “Mr. Roboto”).
The work features a menagerie of skeptical mythical creatures – the Loch Ness monster, aliens, mermaids, unicorns, and Medusa – who dismiss MetroPCS’s offer of low-cost, unlimited talk and text as “so good, it must be make-believe.”
The Richards Group has been the agency for MetroPCS since the launch of the brand in 2002.
